We lost our final day of sailing in Cascais because of Graham’s neck. But that didnt keep Stu and coach Nigel from going sailing! Thats right! Nigel brought along his “Olympic Cut” of sails he developed for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He was so excited to se them up again and even more excited to go sailing with Stu crewing for him. Graham followed closely int he coach boat in case anything bad happened and was quite entertained during the short races in breeze around 15+ knots.

Team Cochrane/McNay had it rough in the first race with their equipment not set properly and sailing into a huge hole on the first beat. They did manage to pass one boat on the second beat but were unable to hold them off for the finish.

Race two looked much more promising as coach Graham and his athletes decided that right was the way to go. After a mediocre start and a tack out right, Cochrane/McNay looked to be in a strong position. They rounded the top mark iin 2nd place! After some trouble getting the kite up, they finally took off down the run full wiring in the puff of the day! They rounded the bottom mark in 3rd and continued to look strong. Unfortunatly they got a little too excited and did a fast lee-bow and flipped. This concluded the day and they were all smiles.

Nigel wants to sail with them again to see if they are still fast! When we return to Cascais we will try again for fun!
